LA beachside Roadshow
“To live and die in LA, it’s the place to be / You’ve got to be there to know it / What everybody wanna see yeah….”
During a recent morning commute to work here in Los Angeles, 2Pac’s To Live & Die in LA was playing and served as the perfect lead-up to big news: LA had been awarded the 2028 Summer Olympics. No doubt, Los Angeles offers many unique advantages as an Olympic host-city, and as Tom Bradley, Mayor of Los Angeles the last time the city hosted the Olympics in 1984, explained, “People cut themselves off from their ties of the old life when they come to Los Angeles. They are looking for a place where they can be free, where they can do things they couldn’t do anywhere else.”
We are now at the tail-end of what feels like Ad Tech’s roadshow season, with vendors pulling out all the stops to update the advertising community on all that’s Hot and New in their product offerings. As JUICE Mobile’s Los Angeles office prepared for our own product roadshow for the Southern California ad agency community, we decided to do things a little differently and put a uniquely-LA spin on things. It was time to have a little fun!
We decided to veer against the classic in-agency meeting and hosted a two-day event for the agency community at a killer beach house – I mean we are in LA after all- let’s take advantage of it! Our beachside Creative Pop-Up consisted of a two-part program. On day 1: an intimate catered dinner plus a work-from-the-beach day/bocce ball tournament. We welcomed agency & brand thought-leaders in Los Angeles’ vibrant ad community for a relaxed and collaborative discussion on forward-thinking advertising strategies, innovative mobile formats, and an exploration into JUICE Mobile’s vision for the future canvas; including advertising applications for Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality technologies. There were amazing conversations and in-depth discussions about the changing industry landscape and sharing of failures and successes.
For day 2, we invited agency clients to work from the beach with JUICE Mobile in a fun and educational day full of discussions about JUICE Mobile’s current and future vision for the mobile ad canvas and obviously some beach volleyball, surfing, and bocce ball. It was a great opportunity for both education and networking for the team and a great time for us to socialize with our clients, showcase our awesome work and have some fun!
We found that this “Roadshow” format lent itself to very relaxed, honest, and collaborative discussions about mobile advertising. If you find yourself talking mobile advertising strategies with a JUICE Mobile rep., barefoot at the beach on a warm sunny day, in the middle of a bocce ball game you might just echo the sentiment that Randy Newman made famous in his song, “I Love LA”
