Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of, and have likely seen, the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, the three newest additions to Apple’s esteemed smartphone-lineup. On September 12th, Apple unveiled the smartphones in true Apple-fashion: with a formulaic yet captivating presentation. Here at JUICE Mobile, saying that we’re excited about these new iPhones would be a severe understatement. These new iPhones include features worth salivating over – at least in our opinion.
Screen
Arguably the most exciting and prominent upgrade to the iPhone lineup is the screen. While there were slight screen improvements to the iPhone 8 models, the iPhone X was truly the star of the show, with its edge-to-edge, nearly bezel-less screen – a first on any iPhone. The new 5.8-inch, OLED, Super Retina display produces true blacks, increased brightness, and more accurate and brilliant colors. Additionally, an edge-to-edge display means that the home button’s extinction is underway. This new screen will make everything you do on your phone that much more enjoyable.
Cameras
Similar to the screen, the iPhone 8 models include modest, yet appreciable upgrades. The iPhone X, however, is where Apple packed all of their most cutting-edge camera-technology. The previously underwhelming front-facing camera now includes facial recognition technology that will change the way we interact with our phones. With the ability to unlock, authenticate and pay, users will hardly miss the old system of Touch ID and the home button. The front-facing camera is not just for business, but also for fun. See this! The beefed-up, 12MP back-facing camera, with its depth-sensing ability, comes shipped with Portrait Lighting – Apple’s attempt at providing users with the ability to take professional-grade photographs with their phone.
Processor
This time, with the new A11 Bionic processor, the iPhone 8 models get to share an upgrade with their iPhone X counterpart. The new processor’s power and intelligence, although not as sexy an upgrade as the screen or cameras, will be immediately evident when using one of these new devices. The speedier processor means that everything you use your phone for will work quicker and look smoother. This means less waiting and a longer battery life. The A11 Bionic is the brain behind the incredible augmented reality experiences that Apple is promising its users. When combined with ARKit, in iOS 11, see more info here, developers will be able to harness the processing power they need to create extraordinary augmented reality experiences that are sure to reshape the way we interact with our mobile devices.
Wireless Charging
By encasing its new iPhones in glass and adding the ability to charge the new iPhones wirelessly, Apple has created its first iteration of fully wireless devices. Although all of the new models still include a lightning connector port, a user has the ability to use their phone for its entire lifespan without plugging in a single cable. With the advent of wireless charging, Apple brings its users a freedom never before seen on an iPhone.
While we, at JUICE Mobile, wait for the new iPhones to hit the shelves, our Creative Labs and Studio team is hard at work coming up with new and creative ways to leverage the features of these cutting-edge devices to bring our users and clients even more captivating experiences and content.
